The Frankenstein Meme  celebrates the enduring influence of Mary Shelley’s world-famous novel, Frankenstein, on the 200th-Anniversary of its publication in 1818. The art show, curated by Art Professor Cliff Cramp, features  CSUF students and faculty exploring the continuing play of images and themes from  Shelley’s novel across our visual culture. The Special Collections display, curated by  CSUF students, Patricia Prestinary (Special Collections Librarian) , and Dr. David Sandner  (English Professor), showcases key works from our science fiction collection that point to the influence of the Frankenstein story on other stories told in magazines,  novels, movies and more, including Science Fiction and Fantasy pulp magazines, the androids of Philip K. Dick,  works from the Steampunk movement begun by CSUF alums, and much more.
