In the spirit of the communal reading of ghost stories that inspired Mary Shelley, Tufts will hold a community marathon reading of Frankenstein on Halloween. Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and interested others are invited to participate in the public reading, which will begin at 10:30am and continue into the night at the Tisch Family Gallery in the midst of States of Freedom: the figure in flux, an exhibit of material from the university’s archive and rare book collection alongside pieces by contemporary artists whose work explores and celebrates the human form as an unstable amalgamation of histories, technologies, and cultures. The reading is organized by the English Department and Tufts Art Galleries and is supported by the Toupin-Bolwell Fund for the Arts.
